Basketball Recap: Satellite Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Satellite ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with a 76-68 victory over the Merritt Island Mustangs. The win almost wasn't to be: the Scorpions were down 41-25 in the second quarter.

Christian Mcphilamy was a one-man wrecking crew for Satellite as he went 10 of 11 en route to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Mcphilamy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of K'Dnce Cataldo, who posted 19 points and six assists.

Satellite was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory snapped Satellite's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-12 record. As for Merritt Island, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Satellite didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-47 win against Eau Gallie on the 31st. Merritt Island has also already played their next contest, a 68-64 loss against Palm Bay on the 3rd.
