Football Recap: Gadsden City Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Gadsden City played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies and fell 56-7. The Titans have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

A big part of Hewitt-Trussville's victory came down to the chemistry between Jack Floyd and his top target Zach Benedict. Floyd rushed for 90 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries while Benedict rushed for 84 yards and two TDs. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 50 yards. Christopher Cj Davis was another key player, gaining 137 total yards.

Gadsden City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Gadsden City and Hewitt-Trussville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Titans are set to square off against their familiar foe Buckhorn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hewitt-Trussville will face off against rival Vestavia Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
