Softball Game Preview: Burroughs Burros vs. Hesperia Scorpions

The Burroughs Burros will take on the Hesperia Scorpions at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Burroughs and eight for Hesperia.

Burroughs lost 19-1 to Sultana on Thursday.

Burroughs saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Farinha, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Serrano hit Hesperia with a 14-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Scorpions came up short against the Diamondbacks, falling 18-2.

Hesperia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15-1. As for Burroughs, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Hesperia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Burroughs hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .366. It's a different story for Hesperia, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Burroughs' hitters?

Burroughs took their win against Hesperia in their previous matchup on April 3rd by a conclusive 18-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Burros since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
