Volleyball Recap: Mt. Mansfield's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

Mt. Mansfield came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Essex Hornets. The loss put an end to the Cougars' undefeated start to the season.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Essex scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-17.

Mt. Mansfield's offense was headlined by Grady Tacy-Munroe and Jake Philbrick, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Holden Lerner and his 16 assists. Tacy-Munroe was also solid from the service line: he led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mt. Mansfield fell to 3-1.

Mt. Mansfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against South Burlington on the 20th. Essex does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
