Riverside moved up to 237 from 307 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lackawanna 2. The Vikings were able to make the jump by topping Honesdale 49-21.
Riverside took down the Hornets 49-21 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kyle Carney was the best wideout in the league this week as Honesdale fell to Evan Prall's team. Carney racked up four receptions for 95 yards. Tyler Canfield helped Honesdale's passing attack out by catching one ball for 12 yards.
Johnny Rhodes put up the best numbers through the air as Western Wayne lost to Mid Valley. He finished with a total of nine completions for 135 yards and one touchdown. Rhodes' favorite target this week was James Berger, who caught four passes for 74 yards.
Daiqwon Buckley was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 159 yards as Dunmore lost to the Vikings. Austin Seamon also contributed to the rushing game with 30 yards on the ground.
5-foot-11 quarterback Kevin Miller of Honesdale is the league leader in passing yards this season with 751. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Wildcats' Robbie Siclari has rushed for 911 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Ron Tomasetti. The Mid Valley star has 20 catches for 399 yards.
Western Wayne's Siclari is a mere 89 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Al Keller's team takes on Dunmore. The Wildcats' offense has scored 207 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Jack Henzes' team has allowed only 51 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Riverside takes on the Spartans. The Vikings are in second place, while Mid Valley is in third place.
Frank Pazzaglia's team and Western Wayne played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Frank Pazzaglia's team eventually emerging with a 20-18 victory.
