Baseball Recap: Tioga Comes Up Short

Tioga was the 11-0 winner over Whitewright when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tioga Bulldogs fell just short of the Whitewright Tigers by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Austin Norwood was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Tioga is 3-1 when Norwood posts two or more runs, but 2-4-1 otherwise. Gage Anderson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Tioga's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Whitewright, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Tioga will face off against Sam Rayburn at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Tioga is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Whitewright, they will take on Ector at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
