Baseball Game Preview: Columbus Cardinals vs. Edna Cowboys

For the second straight game, Columbus will face off against Edna. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Columbus took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Edna with a sharp 13-5 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Edna's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Palacios, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Weston Howard also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Columbus has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Edna, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.
