Softball Recap: James Island Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, James Island was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They came up short against the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes, falling 9-1. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Swamp Foxes earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

James Island saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rachel Manchester, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

James Island has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Ashley Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11-1 record this season.

James Island has already played their next match, a 26-5 victory against Stall on the 2nd. As for Ashley Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-8 win against West Ashley on the 2nd.
