Baseball Preview: Stratford Tigers vs. Colfax Vikings        
        
		
            The Stratford Tigers will square off against the Colfax Vikings at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Stratford has six straight  wins, Colfax has 17 straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While Stratford's  victory against Spencer wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers won by a  run and slipped past the Rockets  7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Tigers have posted  since April 24th.

 Drew Gage made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double. Those  three  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Riley Spindler was  excellent,  going 1-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.  Jack Tubbs was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with three  stolen bases and one  run.
Meanwhile, Colfax scored the most  runs they've had  this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell  11-7 to Stanley-Boyd.
  Drew Buchner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with three  stolen bases and three  runs. The team also got some help courtesy of  Zach Hiitola, who  got on base  in all four of his plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Stratford pushed their record up to 15-6 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Colfax, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.
