Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Nogales' Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Nogales won the last time they faced Cienega, and Cecilia Burruel did her part to make sure it happened again. The Nogales Apaches blew past the Cienega Bobcats 61-27 on Monday thanks in part to Burruel, who went 11 for 19 on her way to 29 points and seven blocks. Those seven blocks gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Arlette Munoz, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Despite the loss, Cienega had strong showings from Emma Guevara, who scored 15 points and five boards, and Amaya Woolford, who earned three points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.

Nogales is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40 points. As for Cienega, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.
