Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

Oak Grove lost against Willow Glen back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eagles took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams.

Jeremiah Vierra made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Brandon Stewart was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Oak Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Willow Glen, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will challenge Piedmont Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Pirates have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Willow Glen, they will take on Leland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
