Recap: Servite Friars vs. Serra Cavaliers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Servite Friars had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 28-20 win over Serra. Winning may never get old, but Servite sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Quaid Carr, who rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Carr is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. Aidan O'callaghan also helped out with an impressive 86 receiving yards.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jimmy Butler, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 194 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Camron Harris-willcot, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown.

Servite is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Serra, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Servite will head out on the road to face off against Mission Viejo at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Mission Viejo is ranked fifth, while Servite is ranked tenth). Serra does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
