Basketball Recap: Logan/Palco Takes a Loss

Logan/Palco lost against Cheylin back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Logan/Palco took a blow against the Cheylin Cougars, falling 66-28. While losing is never fun, Logan/Palco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Cheylin is ranked 17th).

Logan/Palco's loss came despite strong showings from Breyer Delimont and Lylah Voss. Delimont went 6 for 11 on her way to 14 points and six rebounds, while Voss posted eight points and seven rebounds. Those 14 points gave Delimont a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Logan/Palco smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Logan/Palco and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Cheylin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Logan/Palco will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Decatur Community at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Cheylin also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Wauneta-Palisade at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
