Basketball Game Preview: Mountlake Terrace Hawks vs. Inglemoor Vikings

The Mountlake Terrace Hawks and the Inglemoor Vikings will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Mountlake Terrace is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since December 8, 2023 on Friday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 59-56 win from a begrudging Hawks squad.

Meanwhile, Inglemoor came up short against Bothell on Friday and fell 80-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (59), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Mountlake Terrace will need focus on slowing down Aman Sterling, one of several Inglemoor players who made an impact when they last played. He went 10 for 17 on his way to 25 points and eight assists. Those eight assists gave Sterling a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Schutt, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Even though they lost, Inglemoor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Mountlake Terrace's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Inglemoor, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
