Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Vikings vs. Ontario Warriors

River Valley is on a five-game streak of home losses, Ontario a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Thursday. The River Valley Vikings will welcome the Ontario Warriors at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Saturday, River Valley came up short against Mt. Vernon and fell 39-27. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 193rd).

Meanwhile, Ontario was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 48-43 to Highland.

Ontario's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for River Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

River Valley strolled past Ontario when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 50-36. Does River Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ontario turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
