Basketball Recap: Hoosic Valley Comes Up Short

Hoosic Valley lost against Mechanicville back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hoosic Valley Hawks took a blow against the Mechanicville Red Raiders, falling 59-24. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 138th).

Hoosic Valley has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season. As for Mechanicville, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoosic Valley will venture away from home to face off against Hudson at 5:00 p.m. on February 19th. As for Mechanicville, they will take on Greenwich at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Greenwich will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Mechanicville surely won't give up without a fight.
