Basketball Recap: Mount Olive Christian Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Mount Olive Christian extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Abby Rodgers. Mount Olive Christian narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Union Christian Academy Lions 46-44 thanks in part to Rodgers, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Her afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jasey Gantt, who posted 13 points along with five assists and three steals. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games.

Mount Olive Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Union Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Olive Christian and Southwest Louisiana HomeSchool will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Union Christian Academy, they will head out to square off against Central School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
