Softball Recap: Hicksville Aces vs. Paulding Panthers        
        
		
            
 Hicksville was the  9-5 winner over Paulding when they last played one another  back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Hicksville Aces fell just short of the Paulding Panthers by a score of  6-5 on Tuesday. Hicksville has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Kennedy Adams spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits. Those nine  innings set a new season-high mark for her.
 At the plate,  Lilly Porter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with a  home run and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Addie Sanders, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 On Paulding's side,  Tia Mendez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched nine innings while giving up  four earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. Mendez was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last five games she's  played.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Maci Kauser, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.  Mariah Klopfenstein was another key contributor,  going 3-for-4 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Hicksville now  has a losing record at 2-3. As for Paulding, the  win for them keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
 Hicksville will head out on the road to  challenge  Wayne Trace at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Paulding, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ayersville at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Paulding will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak  dating back to last season alive.
