Basketball Recap: Corning Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Corning took on Trumann on Saturday. The Corning Bobcats fell just short of the Trumann Wildcats by a score of 63-61. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Corning's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Trumann, the win snapped their losing streak at ten games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-6 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corning will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Riverside knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Corning likes a good challenge. Trumann also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Rivercrest at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
