Softball Recap: Mcclain's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

McClain can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Paint Valley Bearcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Hayley Worthen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Brie Cummins was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Kenzie Wise was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

McClain's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Paint Valley, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McClain will face off against Southeastern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Paint Valley, they will take on Piketon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Redstreaks will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bearcats surely won't give up without a fight.
