Swansboro came out on top against Dixon on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since March 13th.

Addison McMillan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katherine Cahall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Ryleigh Cline was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Swansboro now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Dixon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-10.

Swansboro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-4 win against Southwest Onslow on the 22nd. As for Dixon, they have also already played their next game, a 6-1 loss against Rosewood on the 19th.
