North Laurel had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Friday. They never let the Rockcastle County Rockets get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Emma Carl was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Finley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
North Laurel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockcastle County only posted an OBP of .318.
North Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 24-1-1. As for Rockcastle County, their loss dropped their record down to 15-13-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Laurel will challenge Montgomery County at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Jaguars have won 14 straight at home, while the Indians won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Rockcastle County, they will welcome Frederick Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
