Softball Recap: Cranston West Comes Up Short

Cranston West has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.52 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They came up short against the La Salle Academy Rams, falling 12-0. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost seven in a row.

Cranston West saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Siena Nardelli, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Nardelli has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Cranston West's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for La Salle Academy, their victory was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1.

Coming up, Cranston West will host Smithfield at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 3.5, the Sentinels 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
