Baseball Recap: Marceline Comes Up Short

After flying high against Brookfield on Monday, Marceline came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 6-1 to the Carrollton Trojans on Friday.

Marceline saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Rodgers, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Marceline has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Carrollton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marceline will host Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carrollton, they will welcome Lexington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
