Softball Recap: Benjamin Franklin Falcons vs. Lafayette Lions
Benjamin Franklin and Lafayette squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly Benjamin Franklin had to settle for second. They suffered a rough 15-0 loss at the hands of the Lafayette Lions. Benjamin Franklin was red-hot at the plate headed into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior) but Lafayette's pitchers proved too tough.
For Lafayette's part, Calleigh Suir looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (she also only allowed one walk).
On the hitting side, Caroline Terro was incredible, going 1-for-2 with a home run and three runs. Ansylie Mayon was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Benjamin Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Lafayette, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10.
