Baseball Recap: Kenowa Hills' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Kenowa Hills came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Allendale Falcons with a sharp 7-1 victory. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Falcons on April 1st, they had to take a 3-0 defeat.

Keegan Garvin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kenowa Hills let Brennan Gustinis and Jack Stoddard run wild. Gustinis went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Stoddard went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was Gustinis' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Fussman, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Kenowa Hills pushed their record up to 5-1-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Allendale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kenowa Hills will take on Forest Hills Northern at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Allendale, they will square off against Sparta at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
