Football Recap: Clarkstown South Comes Up Short

Clarkstown South easily dispatched New Rochelle last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Vikings fell just short of the John Jay Patriots by a score of 31-28 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Patriots are ranked 40th).

John Jay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cruz Calcagni out in front who rushed for 107 yards and one TD. Those 107 rushing yards gave Calcagni a new career-high. Logan Lawrence was another key signal caller, throwing for 233 yards and three touchdowns.

Clarkstown South's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for John Jay, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

As of now, neither Clarkstown South nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
