Basketball Recap: Circle Christian Comes Up Short

Circle Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 54-42 to the Elite Prep Academy Eagles. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Kirk Duhaney was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for Elite Prep Academy. The match was Duhaney's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was King Williams, who posted 11 points.

Circle Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Elite Prep Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Circle Christian and Marathon will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Elite Prep Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Central Florida Leadership at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
