Basketball Recap: Providence Grove Takes a Loss

Providence Grove lost against Randleman last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Providence Grove Patriots lost 71-50 to the Randleman Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 408th, while the Tigers are ranked 83rd).

Despite the loss, Providence Grove still got an impressive performance from Andrew Thomas, who posted 24 points and six steals. Thomas is becoming a predictor of Providence Grove's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is 3-1 (and 9-13 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Will Dabbs, who earned 12 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Providence Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Randleman, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-1.

As of now, neither Providence Grove nor Randleman have any future games scheduled.
