Volleyball Recap: Cowan Starts Season with Loss at Home

Cowan unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Winchester Community Golden Falcons on Monday. The Blackhawks have struggled against the Golden Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-9, 25-20.

Cowan's offense was headlined by Savannah Hall and Gabby Webb, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Demi Abbott and her eight assists.

Winchester Community has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Cowan will be playing in front of their home fans against Tri at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Winchester Community, they will venture away from home to take on Richmond at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
