Basketball Game Preview: Steamboat Springs Sailors vs. Aspen Skiers

The Steamboat Springs Sailors will take on the Aspen Skiers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Steamboat Springs didn't have too much trouble with Basalt as they won 36-22. The win continues a trend for the Sailors in their matchups with the Longhorns: they've now won three in a row.

Among those leading the charge was Talyn Anderson, who went 5 for 12 to rack up 17 points. What's more, she also posted a 56% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Mahlet Vanblarcum was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Aspen hadn't done well against Meeker recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Aspen walked away with a 43-34 victory over Meeker. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Skiers.

Aspen pushed their record up to 4-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Steamboat Springs, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
