Basketball Game Preview: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. Avon Park Red Devils

Sebring is 2-8 against Avon Park since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sebring Blue Streaks just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Avon Park Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Sebring beat Discovery 32-24. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Streaks.

Meanwhile, Avon Park didn't have too much trouble with Frostproof on Thursday as they won 36-22.

Sebring better focus on containing Keivelisse Soto and Tytianna Allen as the pair were huge in Avon Park's win. Soto posted 17 points and six boards, while Allen put up ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. Soto is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jaymara Jackson was another key player, putting up three points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Avon Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Sebring's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Avon Park, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Sebring strolled past Avon Park when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 55-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sebring since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
