Baseball Recap: McAllen Comes Up Short

McAllen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 8-2 to the Vela Sabercats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sabercats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 last Tuesday.

McAllen saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Esquivel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Esquivel snagged this season.

McAllen's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14-3. As for Vela, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

McAllen has already played their next match, a 5-1 loss against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial on the 8th. As for Vela, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-0 defeat against Sharyland on the 8th.
