Football Recap: Redwood Christian Skates Past San Lorenzo with Ease

San Lorenzo kept up with Redwood Christian until halftime on Friday, but afterwards: not so much. The Eagles claimed a resounding 42-13 win over the Grizzlies. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 28-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Redwood Christian's victory came down to the chemistry between Elijah Pineda and his top target Onyekachi Ajawara. Pineda rushed for 54 yards and a pair of TDs while Ajawara picked up 82 receiving yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave Pineda a new career-high in passing yards (121). Landon Devoe-Krowicki helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards.

Redwood Christian's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in San Lorenzo's side was Caleb Redemer, who made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Redwood Christian has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 47.5 points this season. As for San Lorenzo, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redwood Christian will venture away from home to face off against Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Lorenzo, they will head out to take on Concord at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
