Basketball Game Preview: Hamburg Lions vs. Monticello Billies

Hamburg and Monticello are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Hamburg Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Monticello Billies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamburg has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since November 26.

Last Tuesday, Hamburg had to suffer through a 55-23 loss at the hands of Sheridan.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monticello). They blew past Dermott, posting a 59-23 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Billies as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Monticello's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Hamburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Hamburg strolled past Monticello in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 53-38. Does Hamburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monticello turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
