Football Recap: Dover Starts off Right with Win over New Paltz

Dover took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 43-15 victory over the New Paltz Huguenots. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Dragons just coasted through the last quarter.

Dover was led to victory by Matt Ogana and Conor Drnek. Ogana rushed for 210 yards and three scores while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, while Drnek rushed for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Those 210 rushing yards gave Ogana a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Dover's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Kayden Brinson was especially locked on to New Paltz's QB and sacked him three times.

Dover didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-6 win against Highland on the 12th. As for New Paltz, they have also already played their next game, a 21-0 loss against Beacon on the 11th.
