Softball Recap: Hampshire Comes Up Short

Hampshire fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Berkeley Springs on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Indians by a score of 11-9. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Ava Call was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Charly Ashton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Hampshire's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Berkeley Springs, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-19.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hampshire beat the Indians by a score of 16-1 later that day.
