Basketball Recap: Kim/Branson Drops Season-High Score on Hoehne

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kim/Branson). They blew past the Hoehne Farmers 85-60 on Friday. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kim/Branson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Rosas, who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 12 assists, and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Rosas a new career-high in assists. Kolter Cranson was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 14 boards.

Rosas wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Kim/Branson was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Hoehne still got an impressive performance from Bobby Terry, who went 10 of 14 on his way to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three blocks. Terry's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Caden Marquez, who posted 12 points.

Kim/Branson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points over those games. As for Hoehne, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Kim/Branson is taking a road trip to square off against Granada at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hoehne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sierra Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
