Softball Recap: Pascack Hills Triumphs

Pascack Hills's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fort Lee Bridgemen an 8-0 shutout. The Cowboys have beaten the Bridgemen the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bridgemen has come to flipping the script.

The result came thanks to Nina Tuli's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brielle Siegenthaler was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Sutton, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pascack Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.2.

The win got Pascack Hills back to even at 6-6. As for Fort Lee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pascack Hills will square off against Westwood at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Fort Lee, they will challenge Tenafly at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
