Basketball Game Preview: Loudonville Redbirds vs. Central Christian Comets

Having just played yesterday, the Loudonville Redbirds will head out on the road to face off against the Central Christian Comets at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Loudonville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Friday, Loudonville had to suffer through a 86-59 loss at the hands of Cardington-Lincoln. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (57), the Redbirds still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Central Christian's strategy against Oberlin on Tuesday. Central Christian was the clear victor by a 71-51 margin over Oberlin. The Comets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season.

Central Christian has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.6 points per game. As for Loudonville, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Loudonville came up short against Central Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 55-48. Can Loudonville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
