Volleyball Recap: Olentangy Liberty Comes Up Short

After flying high against Olentangy Orange on Tuesday, Olentangy Liberty came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Bishop Watterson Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Olentangy Liberty took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-11, 20-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Despite the loss, Olentangy Liberty still got an impressive performance from Sreekar Sunkara, who had 22 assists and ten digs. Sunkara is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 14 or more in each of the last 14 games he's played.

Jack Spiers was the offensive standout of the match as he had 15 digs and two assists. Those 15 digs gave him a new career-high.

Olentangy Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Bishop Watterson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Coming up, Olentangy Liberty will face off against Dublin Jerome at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Bishop Watterson, they will take on Chillicothe at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
