Baseball Recap: Stadium Sets Scoring Season-High Against Kentwood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Stadium). They came out on top against the Kentwood Conquerors by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday.

Finn Wood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Wood was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Makhai Merton was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Riley Newman also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Stadium's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Kentwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Stadium will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Conquerors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
