Basketball Recap: Mabel-Canton Comes Up Short

Mabel-Canton played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the South Winneshiek Warriors and fell 79-43. The Cougars have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Mabel-Canton's loss came despite strong showings from Isaac Underbakke and Kale Eiken. Underbakke posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, while Eiken put up seven points and three steals.

Mabel-Canton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for South Winneshiek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mabel-Canton will welcome Grand Meadow at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for South Winneshiek, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against MFL MarMac at 7:45 p.m.
