Softball Recap: Dale County Comes Up Short

Dale County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Zion Chapel Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-3 defeat back in March.

Bre Wilkerson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Allie Buckelew also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Dale County's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Zion Chapel, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Coming up, Dale County will take on Andalusia at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zion Chapel, they will square off against Pike Liberal Arts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
