Basketball Game Preview: Edgewood Cougars vs. Waynesville Spartans

The Edgewood Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Waynesville Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Edgewood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 48-42 to Monroe. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Waynesville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-54 heartbreaker at the hands of Oakwood.

Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Waynesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
