Basketball Recap: Jesup Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked South Hardin

Jesup's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They skirted past the South Hardin Tigers 58-55. The victory was all the more spectacular given the J-Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Tigers are ranked 108th).

The win snapped Jesup's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record. As for South Hardin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Jesup will face off against Grundy Center at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Hardin, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southeast Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
