Basketball Recap: Stella Wall Key Part of Team Effort in Golden Eagles Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Wilkes, Surry Central was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the North Surry Greyhounds by a score of 46-35. The score was all tied up 16-16 at the break, but the Golden Eagles were the better team in the second half.

Surry Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stella Wall led the charge by putting up eight points along with 11 boards and three steals. Those 11 rebounds gave Wall a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Wall, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

Surry Central pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points over those games. As for North Surry, their record is now 15-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Surry Central will head out to take on East Surry at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for North Surry, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Wilkes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Wilkes will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something North Surry surely won't give up without a fight.
