Northern Guilford had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They put the hurt on the Grimsley Whirlies with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Nighthawks' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Dakotah Wilkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Northern Guilford got a massive performance out of Morgan Headen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI Headen has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Shelby Jumpe, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Northern Guilford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive matches.

Northern Guilford pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Grimsley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
