Softball Recap: Shadow Ridge Wins Going Away Against Bishop Gorman

Shadow Ridge got themselves on the board against Bishop Gorman on Thursday, but Bishop Gorman never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Gaels with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Mustangs have beaten the Gaels the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Gaels has come to flipping the script.

The result came thanks to Katelynn Quidato's shutout, as she gave up just five hits and racked up six Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Alina Pavlovich was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Aleana Aionaaka was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.

Pavlovich wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Shadow Ridge lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Shadow Ridge's record is now 8-1. As for Bishop Gorman, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6-1.

Looking ahead, Shadow Ridge will look to defend their home field on Monday against Palo Verde at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Shadow Ridge 2.4, Palo Verde 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Bishop Gorman, they are taking a road trip to face off against Cimarron-Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
