Basketball Recap: Ashland Comes Up Short

Ashland lost against Madawaska two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Ashland Hornets had to suffer through a 70-24 loss at the hands of the Madawaska Owls. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Owls are ranked 15th).

Ashland has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Madawaska, the win keeps them at an undefeated 19-0.

Ashland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Madawaska, they will head out on the road to take on Fort Fairfield at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Madawaska's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
